Fisheries Team Complete Bear Awareness and Shotgun Training in Terrace

Last week, Fisheries staff were in Terrace at the Rod and Gun Club taking or re-certifying their Bear Awareness and Shotgun Training. All participants did a great job in the classroom and on the range, sharing experiences around bears and practicing safe handling and discharge of shotguns. Mariah Marion was the star of the course, improving leaps and bounds both days. She went from being new to the shotgun on day one to confident with it by the end of the course. Mēduh to our amazing instructor Paul Ballard and to the Terrace Rod and Gun Club for hosting us.

Fisheries staff are now mobilizing and getting ready to go into the Lower Stikine Camp for Coho and Chinook smolt coded wire tagging. Stay tuned for our next update.
