Message from the President

I am relieved by the positive outcome of last week’s emergency at the Red Chris mine. Tahltan leadership has been assured of a thorough investigation.
I would like to extend my thanks to all outgoing TCG Board members for their service and welcome all incoming TCG Board members for their commitment to serving our great Nation.
I embrace this responsibility wholeheartedly and pledge to work for all our people, irrespective of your location. Whether you reside in one of our communities within Tahltan Territory or are living elsewhere, I vow to serve each member with integrity, transparency, and compassion.
Our newly elected Board is in the initial phases of onboarding. We are assessing key portfolios – including being updated by our negotiating team, engaging with staff, and collaborating to get up to speed quickly so that we can advance the priorities of our Nation as one.
This period marks a transition and revitalization, and I kindly request your patience and support as we establish a robust foundation.
I have already engaged in discussions with Chief Marie and Chief Rocky, and I am eager to continue these conversations and collaborate closely with all Tahltan leadership to enhance relationships and drive shared progress. Together, we are stronger.
I ran on a vision rooted in accountability, guided by well-being, and dedicated to unity and that is exactly what I intend to accomplish on behalf of our Nation.
I firmly believe that this is a pivotal moment of renewal for the Tahltan Nation. Despite the challenges we have encountered in recent years, I am confident that by uniting with courage, compassion, and clarity, we can forge a future stronger than ever before.
Together, let us heal, let us lead, and let us rise.
Mēduh,
President Kerry Carlick
