Overview

The TCG introduced two funding programs in 2018 to provide supplementary financial support for Tahltans pursuing post-secondary education and training opportunities:

1. The Post Secondary and Trades Training Program

2. The Short Term Training and Certifications Program

These programs are administered by the Tahltan Education Director and are available to all TCG members. See below for more information on these programs and to download an application form.

Post Secondary and Trades Training Program

The Post Secondary and Trades Training Program is intended to provide supplemental funding to Tahltans pursuing longer term or semester based education and training opportunities.

Funding through this program is available to all registered members of the TCG who are in good financial standing. Funding will be allocated for tuition costs, books and other required supplies, and supplemental living allowance. All funding is subject to an annual cap and will be awarded at the discretion of the Tahltan Education and Training Advisory Board.

To apply for funding under this program, please complete the Post Secondary and Trades Training Program Application Form – Post Secondary and Trades Training Application Form and return it to the Tahltan Education Director in person or via email at educationdirector@tahltan.org. Applications for Fall 2018 semester are due by September 30th, 2018.

Short Term Training and Certifications Program

The Short Term Training and Certifications Program is intended to provide supplemental funding to Tahltans pursuing shorter term training and certification opportunities, including high school equivalency and upgrading.

Funding through this program is available to all registered members of the TCG who are in good financial standing. Funding will be allocated for program fees and required supplies. Tahltans who live within the Territory and must travel outside of the territory for a program may also be eligible for travel cost reimbursement under this program. All funding is subject to an annual cap and will be awarded at the discretion of the Tahltan Education Director.
