Planning is beginning for next year’s prescribed fire program to enhance sheep and goat habitat, and we are seeking community input on potential areas for burning.

Prime candidate areas include grazing areas used by sheep where shrubs have begun spreading higher up the mountain. These are often south-facing slopes that were once primarily covered by grasses and low-growing flowering plants but are now increasingly being overtaken by shrubs.
